Road Series

SCROLL DOWN

Road Series

We firmly believe the aging process we have developed not only gives our instruments the right sound and look, but it also gives our instruments the ineffable mojo of a great vintage guitar.

Playing a sweaty bar gig? Don’t worry about it. We install adjustable two-way truss rods in all of our "Road Series" necks for resistance to weather changes and ease of setup. Getting on a plane from 80% humidity New Orleans to 30% humidity Phoenix? This guitar can handle it. Enjoying a late night festival campfire jam?  Bring it on. Leave your belt on. Strum and wail. That’s what it’s made for.

We utilize hot hide glue for all of the bracing as well as in our perfectly fit traditional dovetail neck joints. We use Torrefied tops and hand carved Torrefied brace wood for their dry-aged tone, not to mention their buttery-smooth pumpkin patina. And we artfully give them the only look that suits the sweet vintage sounds they make before they leave the shop. What you get is a Prewar – our kind of Pre-war, with the soul, sound, and look of a well-loved vintage instrument, but with the price, adjust-ability, and reliability of a modern guitar.

The classic tone of a vintage Mahogany D: Feather weight, dry and clear, with some sweetness around the edge. Tremendous punch with a rainbow of tone colors that changes as you dig in. It can be soft; It can be loud....or anything in between. Like all pre-war mahogany dreads, it loves a good mike---on stage or in the studio---and it feels like it belongs in your hands from the first moment you pick it up.

Adirondack and Brazilian: the perfect recipe for a dreadnought cannon that can go toe-to-toe with any Loar or Mastertone. It has a big bark, but lots of warmth as well. The chords are sweet, and the single notes shine like diamonds. Whether playing in a duo, or full band, the tone cuts through loud and clear. What's old is new again....step into the bluegrass time machine with this one.

The slope-shoulder:  A favorite of many a famous songwriter or folksinger, but completely at home in the hands of a bluesman or bluegrasser  as well. The Model J is feather weight and responds to the the fingerpicker's touch as well as the flatpicker's. It can whisper, and it can shout, you feel it moving the air around you. A particularly great guitar for the solo performer, but this one will be a perfect fit  for any musical setting you can put it in.
